ESOL survey

Debby Venator a regular participant in the ESOL sharing sessions, along with input from others in the group, constructed this survey in the fall of 2000. Please copy and paste the questions and send your responses via email to janet_isserlis@brown.edu, or fax to 863-3094, or mail to LR/RI, Box 1974, Brown University, Providence, RI 02912. Your responses are welcome at any time. Many thanks

At a recent ESOL sharing/discussion session, some of us were discussing how helpful it would be if we could all share ideas for community resources. So if you're interested in doing this, please take a minute to answer the questions below. Thanks a lot. It should be really helpful if we can all share these ideas.

What do you do to bring the outside community into your classroom and vice versa?

Do you take field trips? If so, what are some of your favorites?

vHow do these relate to what you're doing in your classroom? What preparation, if any, is needed?

What extension activities, if applicable, do you do afterwards?

Can you supply contact names and Phone numbers? What about transportation, parking, logistics tips etc.?

How about speakers/programs in your classroom?

What programs would you recommend?

Why were these of interest?

How did you come up with these ideas? Your idea? Students' suggestions? The presenter contacted you?

What preparation/extension activities did you do?

How much time is needed for this program?

Who are the contact people, #s etc.?

Any other suggestions for programs or community activities?
