Meet the 2009 Liman Fellows

The Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University is pleased to announce the Brown University recipients of the 2009 Arthur Liman Undergraduate Summer Fellowship. The Fellowship is co-coordinated by the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University in partnership with the Arthur Liman Public Interest Program at Yale Law School.

Meet the 2009 Swearer Fellows

The Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2009 Howard R. Swearer International Service Fellowship. The Fellowship is a full-time, summer fellowship for junior and senior students in the College to pursue international service work. The Fellowship provides up to $3,500 to cover student’s costs.

Fall Course on Philanthropy

This course will start with an overview of philanthropy and social change, and the concepts and practice of financial investments for social change; then engage students in teams to investigate a particular community concern, design an investment strategy, recommend the investment of grant dollars, and set up the means to evaluate the outcomes of that investment. Course participation is by application only.

Still at 25 George St... & now at JWW

We've outgrown our home!  In case you've seen the Swearer Center on the directory at J Walter Wilson and wondered if we've moved -- Most of our staff and programs are still based in our 25 George Street house, but our College Advising Corps (Rosanna Castro and Jesse Cohen) and new Engaged Life Partnership/Venture Consortium (Peggy Chang and Jan Cal) are now based at J Walter Wilson.  We welcome you to visit either office, but please come by 25 George Street for genera inquiries.
