RESEARCH TEAMS
Research teams give individuals an opportunity to get involved in the launching and refining of new social initiatives. Social entrepreneurship and blended models of poverty alleviation are growing and thriving. However, rapid program growth can have tradeoffs concerning the quality of the project. We recognize this dilemma, and intend to address this issue by assembling research teams. Teams of about ten students will engage with the literature, case-studies, and people surrounding a particular area like micro-finance and grant creation for two reasons: First, research will directly contribute to ongoing student projects to stay on the cutting edge of the field, to better evaluate the program, and to grow the program's capacities. Second, research teams will be communities of social entrepreneurship where thought- sharing and creative inspiration will flourish. Research teams are an entry point into SII's programs, an opportunity to become an expert in a field of social innovation, and a vibrant community of engaged students. These student-led initiatives are recruiting students to join their research teams (click on the links for project descriptions and information on how to join):
