Former Senator and Ambassador Carol Moseley-Braun (D IL) will deliver the 2003 Krieger Lecture at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10 in Salomon 101. Her talk is part of the Krieger Memorial Lecture established by the family and friends of Public Policy Noah Krieger who died in 1993.more.gif (178 bytes)

Former Senator (D-CO, 1975-1987) and Democratic Presidential Candidate Gary Hart will speak on "Restoration of the Republic," at 4:00 p.m. on March 18, 2003 in the Solomon Center for Teaching, Room 101. In the news recently for his strong criticisms of the Bush Administration's policies in Iraq, several Democratic strategists and spin-doctors have urged him to make another run for the presidency in 2004.more.gif (178 bytes)

September, 2002

This year the Taubman Center welcomes four new faculty members. In a joint appointment between the Taubman Center and Brown's Economics Department, Brian Knight has been named Assistant Professor of Economics and Public Policy. Through an appointment with the Political Science Department, Corey Brettschneider has been named Assistant Professor of Political Science and Public Policy.

In addition, the Center has inaugurated its new postdoctoral Fellows program by hiring Julia Rubin and Kevin Esterling for the 2002-2003 academic year. The new postdoctoral Fellows program is being funded by an endowment created by the family of John Hazen White. more.gif (178 bytes)

September, 2001

Happy and the late John Hazen White, Sr. of Barrington, Rhode Island have created a new endowment fund at the Taubman Center. The fund will be used to support the creation of a post-doctoral fellows program and other activities at the Center. During the academic year 2001-2002, the Center will undertake a national search for post-docs who will conduct research on public policy issues and teach undergraduate courses at the Center. more.gif (178 bytes)
