Tim Hett is the Technical
Director and Lighting Supervisor at the Department of Theatre, Speech
and Dance. He coaches in technical production, technical direction,computer
aided drafting and both basic and advanced light design. Tim received
his Master of Fine Arts in Technical Production and Management from
the Professional Theatre Training Program at the University of Delaware
and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Light Design from Virginia Commonwealth
University. Tim's experiences over the years has had him in Taiwan as
Technical Director and Light Designer for the American Shakespeare Theatre
Company's "Hamlet", in Baltimore, Maryland as a seasonal carpenter
at Center Stage, Everyman Theatre, and the Maryland Stage Company where
he served as both carpenter and scenic artist for their production of
"Six Degrees of Separation". Also in Baltimore, Tim has worked
as a Light Designer for the Performance Workshop Theatre on their production
of "The Puppetmaster of Lodz" and as resident Light Designer
for the Bowman Ensemble. Other places Tim has explored have been Chicago
where he was resident Light Designer for Splinter Group Theatre and
Black Ensemble Theatre. Tim's most memorable experience so far has been
in the hills and valleys of West Virginia where he served as Technical
Director and Lighting Designer at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre.
