Ian McDonald

Ian McDonald’s plays have been developed or produced by Loyola Marymount University, Lesley University, ATHE, KCACTF, The Del Ray Players, The Veritas Ensemble, Moving Arts Theatre Company, and MCC at the Great Plains Theatre Conference in Omaha. Plays include Fish: A Love Story, The Chinese Barber and His Wife, Grand Street, The Cancer Play and Anna O. and The Caucus Race. Ian is a recipient of the George F. Montgomery Fellowship for Gothic/Horror Writing and his short story “Three Annually” was published in The L.A. Miscellany. From Summer 2006 to Spring 2008 he served as an intern and then interim assistant to Neil Labute. In 2007 he was awarded a fellowship to attend the Edward Albee Foundation’s Artist Retreat in Montauk, NY.

Ian was born and raised in Southern Maine. He is currently at work on a children’s book and a play about a woman who gives birth to a potato.
