ABOUT THE BROWN FESTIVAL OF DANCE
Brown Festival of Dance highlights professional works by nationally and internationally acclaimed artists. Many of these artists are in residence either as adjuncts in the dance program or through the support of the Creative Arts Council, the Hillel Foundation, private donors, or through the Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance. This concert further supports the research and development of new performance art pieces as well as the coaching and performance of existing classical works.
ABOUT MAUREEN FLEMING
Maureen Fleming, Artistic Director/Choreographer/Performance Artist, is an American dancer born in Japan. In Ms. Fleming's multi-media performances, she invents surreal movement poetry with the discipline of a classicist and the imagination of an iconoclast and explores through metaphorical images our never-ending search for what is universal about the journey of the soul.
