Jane, one of Leavittsburg's favored daughters, escaped Ohio for her New York City Ivy League school. But when she brings her new boyfriend Jake home to visit for the first time, she starts to wonder if she might want to escape back home again.

Leavittsburg, Ohio is written by Nate Sloan, '09 - the latest completely student-written musical from the nearly century-old Brownbrokers group.

Nate Sloan graduated from Brown University last year with an A.B. in Music. He received the Hassenfeld award and the Buxtehude Premium from the Music Department. While at Brown, he performed in and co-led the Brown New Music concert series, and received a Royce Fellowship to research modern Jewish liturgical music. He has studied composition with Shep Shapiro and playwriting with Jonathan Ceniceroz. He is currently studying Music History at Stanford University, with a focus on American art songs, Jewish music, and musical theatre. Nate's composition 'The Loser' for alto and soprano sax and piano was selected to be workshopped with the visiting Trio Saxiana in 2007. His suite of 'Postcard Songs' set texts from early-1900s postcards for voice and piano. He's been in bands playing klezmer, jazz, bluegrass and dance music, and worked as a cocktail pianist for countless weddings and bar mitzvahs.He is also available for private parties of any size.
