I have always been interested in the mechanical: bicycles, cameras, printing presses. While my love of machines seldom enters into the subject matter of my work, it is in large part why I work in and teach book art. I have recently begun exploring traditional film photography and darkroom printing in both black and white and color as a means of broadening my understanding of image making. I am currently in the planning stages for a small book on the Anglican Churches of the Aspotogan Peninsula in Nova Scotia using photographs I made while cycling the 50K route around the peninsula.
