Peter Green House

The Peter Green House (PGH) relocation project was completed in the Spring of 2008. The house was originally constructed in 1868 and is the home for the Department of History.

The house was relocated to an underutilized, but very prominent site, at the corner of Angell and Brown Street. Now in its new location, the fully renovated and restored PGH is a beautiful addition to the streetscape. The land once occupied by PGH will become part of green space fronting on the Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts.

The interior scope of work incorporated a completely new accessible lower level including six new offices, a kitchenette, and necessary support space. The upper floor renovations included restoration to the existing historic wood stair and restorations of the original plaster mural in the first floor classroom.
