About Student Telecommunications Services
Each dormitory room or suite will have one active telephone line.
Free campus and
local calling (Providence area) will be available when you arrive.
Please contact your roommate(s) to decide who will be responsible
for bringing a true touch-tone® phone to school. Local phone
service using phones in the Residence Halls are included in the
room rate. Included with this service are several
features such as call waiting, caller ID, and call forwarding that are often
provided for an additional charge for home users. Long distance
services are provided by PaeTec, with
an option by the student to dial into other providers using a calling
card. Students are also provided with voicemail
services; each student in a room has his or her own voicemail
box. A request from the student must be made to:
voicemail@brown.edu for Voice Mail Activation.
There is no charge for this service.
The above features and services are provided only to students in Residence Halls.
Telecommunications offers cellular discounts to all students at rates negotiated by the University. Contact Telecommunications at 3-2007 for additional information.
