The following STAs are currently on staff:

Hristo Atanasov
Hristo is a sophomore at Brown. He will probably concentrate in International Relations and Economics. He has a background in video and audio editing programs such as Vegas and Sound Forge. In his spare time, he uses his skills to put together short film pieces and to DJ. Hristo skateboards during the summer and snowboards during the winter. He likes to travel and spent an exciting three weeks in Greece during summer 2007

Ryan Chan
Ryan is sophomore at Brown planning to concentrate in Chemistry in Nanoscience. His interests in computers are extremely broad and make him a jack of many trades, with skills ranging from programming (C, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Ruby, HTML, CSS), to MYSQL, photomanipulation with the Adobe Suite, video processing with Premiere and Final Cut Pro, even some time as a 3d graphics artist. His hobbies include running the Sigma Theta Alpha fraternity and yelling at the computers when they don't work.

Jihan Chao
Jihan is a sophomore at Brown with an unknown concentration. Her interests include web design (HTML and CSS), Adobe Photoshop, and anything related to computers. She enjoys nektons (especially penguins), visual art, and music.

Hong Chau
Hong is a junior at Brown concentrating in Commerce, Organizations, and Entrepreneurship. Some of her interests include working with graphic design and web design using programs such as Photoshop and Flash. She has experience in programming in Java as well as web development using HTML and JavaScript. In her spare time, she enjoys making graphic t-shirts and planning events for the Vietnamese Students' Association.

Brian Chin
Brian is a sophomore at Brown. He is not certain as to what he wants to concentrate in, but he is preliminarily thinking MCM, or Art Semiotics. He has experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premier Pro, and After Effects. He loves recording and editing audio, using such programs as Audacity, and CakeWalk. He is very excited to be on the STA team. In his spare time, he plays the guitar and drums, and watches movies. He also loves to play basketball.

Jason French
Jason is a senior concentrating in Computer Science. He has experience in software development in Java, C, and C++ and also in web application development using PHP and MySQL. Jason also has a background in Spanish, filmmaking, Final Cut Pro and various 3D animation software packages. Surprisingly enough, on his free time Jason enjoys working on various computer projects, such as DormInform.com which he created his freshman year and is now being used by the Department of Residential Life, BrownBerry, an all-new employee database for Brown Dining Services, and managing various student organization sites such as BrownPolicyReview.org. His interests include game development and music production.

Nathan Landers is a senior concentrating in Political Science. Born in San Francisco, he was raised farther north in Healdsburg, CA. He has experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but is interested in learning more about video editing and animation. His hobbies include audio production, drawing, and pick-up soccer.

Young Hwan Kim
Young is a senior at Brown, concentrating in Computer Science. He is the main programmer in PHP/MySql for the STA Program.

Emily Roberts
Emily is a senior at Brown concentrating in Art Semiotics/MCM, with an interest in film/animation/video theory and production. She has experience working with Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Maya, Flash, Protools, etc. as well as experience with videotaping/audio recording and traditional visual arts. In addition to her job as an STA, Emily works as a consultant at the Brown Multimedia Labs. In her spare time, Emily enjoys acting in student theatre and television productions.

Cynthia Thaler
Cynthia Thaler is a senior concentrating in Sociology and Portuguese and Brazilian Studies. Her interests include spending time with loved ones and watching Family Guy three times a day. Cynthia works on projects relating to MyCourses, including film digitization, slide scanning, and various other tasks. She is very excited to be on board the STA team.

Karynn Ikeda
Karynn is a junior concentrating in MCM with a focus on language and the Internet. She is interested in graphic design and web development with areas of expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash. Originally from Sacramento, California, she has strong ties to her Japanese-American roots and currently runs layout for VISIONS, Brown’s Asian/Asian American literary magazine. She also enjoys other artistic endeavors such as jewelry making, origami, and beadwork.
