Dell Premier - Personal Purchases

When ordering a personally-owned computer, you will have two options: express ordering one of Brown's standard configurations or custom configuring your computer. The benefits for purchasing a standard configuration for your personal computer are:

  • These computers come with the most significant discounts
  • 3 year on-site warranty is included in the purchase price
  • These machines have been tested by CIS staff and have proven performance in Brown's environment

Note: Personal purchases have Windows XP Professional pre-loaded but do not include University licensed software such as Microsoft Office. Many software applications can be downloaded at CIS's software distribution site.

Setting up a Dell Premier account

To set up a personal account, you will only need to logon to the Dell Premier site. Since Dell's discounted offers are restricted to the Brown community, you will be required to first authenticate using your Brown network credentials. Registration on the Dell page is optional. However, if you choose to register, DO NOT use your Brown password when creating this account!
