Meeting Rooms and Study Hours
Reserving Rooms
J. Walter Wilson is home to 11 seminar rooms (rooms 201, 202, 301, 302, 303, 401, 402, 403, 501, 502, and 503). Priority is given to the scheduling of classes through the Registrar. During available hours, the rooms may be reserved for meetings and other events through the University Scheduling Office.
In addition, JWW is home to the Chaplain's Meeting Room (Room 411), which may be reserved through the Office of the Chaplains and Religious Life.
Study Hours
When seminar rooms are not reserved, students are free to use them to study (please consult the building hours on the right side of the JWW homepage).
Generally, the building is open daily until 11 PM; however, extended hours (11 PM-1 AM) by card access are available to all students Sunday through Thursday night; use your Brown ID cards at the main Waterman Street entrance.
- Before you leave the study space, leave it in as good a condition or better than you found it.
- Please be careful to remove any trash and to leave the tables and chairs in an organized and presentable manner.
- Remember these rooms are used primarily as classrooms. If the primary use is compromised by missing furniture, damage, etc., student use of these rooms for studying could be restricted.
Dedicated Medical student study hours
Given the specialized study needs of medical students, the fourth floor seminar rooms (401, 402, and 403) are reserved for medical student study after 7 PM weekdays and all day on weekends:
- Mondays through Thursdays: 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM
- Fridays: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Saturdays: 7:00 AM-11:00 PM (except October 3 and November 14)
- Sundays: 7:00 AM-1:00 AM (except October 4 and November 15)
