Meeting and Event Spaces

To reserve the following rooms, please review the space availability grid for the SRCC at Faunce House and then contact the University Scheduling Office.

Terrace/Steps (South Exterior)

Furnished with cafe tables, chairs, and benches.

Petteruti Lounge (Room 201)

Flexible room with lounge seating around the perimeter and a full audio-visual package. The room is accessible by the main elevator. The additional furniture available for use with this room includes: 9 - six-foot tables and 75 task chairs.

Conference Room 225

Conference table seating 12 with 6 extra chairs. Large TV screen accepting input from installed DVD player or laptop brought by user.

Faunce Memorial Room (Room 229)

This room is furnished with 8 plush lounge chairs and coffee tables. There are also 4 square tables with 8 chairs.

Rainbow Meeting Room (Room 327)

Hosted by the LGBTQ Resource Center, the room has a conference table that can accmmodate eight with an extra chair available in the room. No installed media.

The Underground Bar (Room 001)

This room was formerly a bar and it may be configured in multiple different ways to accommodate dances and performances.

The furniture in the room includes forty-three (43) chairs.

The room is equiped with a projector and screen with two speakers connected for plug-and-play use.

Additionally, the room has a full PA system. The use of available sound equipment may be coordinated with the Student Activities Office.

If you are interested in using the sound equipment, you will need to recruit someone that is can set-up and operate the equipment, which utlizes a full soundboard.

There is a full PA system in this space including:

  • 2 monitors
  • 2 sm58 vocal mics
  • 2 sm57 instrument mics
  • 3 straight mic stands
  • 1 kick drum mic
  • 3 boom mic stands
  • 2 DI boxes (hotbox)

  • 1/4" Stereo Male to 1/8" Mono Female
  • 1/8" Stereo Female to 1/4" Stereo Male
  • 6ft. audio cable 1/4" Stereo Male to 1/4" Stereo Male
  • 7ft audio to stereo cable (1/8" jack to two RCA plugs)

 

If additional sound equipment, lighting, staging or professional sound technician is needed for your event, please coordinate this with Event Support.

Kasper Multipurpose Room (Room 040)

Potential room configurations

The room is flexible and may be configured in multiple different ways to accommodate just about any campus use. No installed media.

The available standing capacity is 463 persons; set-ups with furniture will accommodate even fewer people with a full furniture set-up such as a banquet with a maximum of 200.

There is a small inventory of event furniture available (contact Event Support for set-up) for use in this room. The inventory of furniture includes:

The Lower Lobby Art Gallery

The Lower Lobby Gallery is located on the basement level of the Stephen Robert ’62 Campus Center directly off of the arch. This gallery is ideal for small student shows (ex. Student group organized exhibits and/or exhibitions of final projects for specific courses offered at Brown).

  • Can be reserved for one week at a time (extensions may be granted on a case by case basis).
  • The gallery can display art as well as the visual components of academic or student group  projects.
  • The use of the space is open to Brown undergraduate, graduate, and medical students only.
  • A Campus Center Coordinator (student) will work with you/your group to identify appropriate installation methods for the space.

 

To request use of the lower lobby space, please send a completed application form and release formto SAO@Brown.edu . A Campus Center Coordinator will be in touch with you to further discuss your proposal.

We recommend that you submit your request at least 3 weeks in advance of your desired installation date to allow adequate time for proposal review and planning. Please also be mindful that fire safety regulations may impact the feasibility of your proposal in this space.

 

Meeting/Study Spaces Available for Impromptu Use

There are a number of rooms available in the center that are open for impromptu meetings and study use.

 

Sonenshine Meeting Room (Room 033)

Conference table and seating for 6 people.

 

The Piano Lounge (Room 034)

This room is home to an upright piano and sofa for practice and recreational use.

 

The Steinberg Lounge (Room 011)

This lounge is home to our two billiard tables. This room has lounge furniture and tall tables with seating available around the room.

 

The Sholem Family Lounge (Room 125)

Located across from the Welcome Center, this lounge offers comfortable seating with coffee tables. It is also home to our grandfather clock.

 

The Lookout Lounge (Room 121)

This lounge is has glass walls with a view of the arch and main green. Lounge seating with coffee tables are available for eight people.

 

The Blue Room (Room 111)

The Blue Room is our campus center cafe. It serves great hot breakfast, lunch and dinner options, plus sandwiches, salads, bagels, pastries and fairly traded coffee to go. The cafe is a wonderful hot spot for impromptu social gatherings. The space is furnished with couches, cafe tables and booths.

 

Leung Family Gallery (Room 211)

This former ballroom space is now featured as our "living room" for the campus community. It has lounge furniture and tables around the room and it has become one of the most popular study spaces on campus. The room features magnificient glass windows with a views of the Main Green and Waterman Street.

 

Meeting Room (Room 341)

There are three rectangular tables set up as a conference room with 10 chairs. There are also two full couches and two sofa chairs on the perimeter of the room.

**Please Note: This room is only accessible through using a staircase. The staircase is located at the end of the second floor hallway passing the Student Activities Office and the Curricular Resource Center.

 

Meeting Room (Room 339)

This room is home to the dining room table that was formerly located in the Memorial Room and seating for 6 people.

Lounge (Room 342)

There are three full couches, two sofa chairs and a small tables with two chairs in this lounge.
