is almost $20 Million annually. As the University grows, so has
its consumption of energy.
The most significant impact on our energy budget
has been the substantial growth in unit prices. From 1997 to 2007, Brown’s average annual unit cost increase;
Purchased Electricity: 6%
Natural Gas: 14%
Central Heat Plant Fuel Oil: 18%
Central Heat Plant Natural Gas: 37%
