The Perry and Marty Granoff Center for the Creative Arts (Creative Arts Center) began construction in 2009. The Granoff Center serves eight primary user groups:  the Departments of Modern Culture and Media; Visual Art; Music and Theatre, Speech and Dance; the Program in Literary Arts, the Rites and Reason Theater and the David Winton Bell Gallery.  Additionally, the Granoff Center seeks to engage the University at large, including, but not limited to engineers, life scientists, computer scientists, and humanists. But no space in the building will be specifically assigned to any of these departments. There is a unified and interdisciplinary relationship between all academic departments and programs.

The Granoff Center will house Teaching, Research, and Production Spaces, Project Studios, Administrative Support Space and University resource program elements to include a Multimedia Lab, Wood/Metals and Electronic Shops, Classroom, Seminar Room, combination Recital Hall, Gallery and a multi use lobby/event space. These combined program elements will ensure that the building will serve as a functionally rich and diverse space for the entire campus and public community.

This website was created in cooperation with a Brown University Sustainable Design course and visualizes the Granoff Center Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) scorecard. Additional detail about each category can be found by clicking on the category link in the recipe card at the top of each page. Tours of the building can be arranged by contacting the Project Manager.
