A message from Bill Rakowski, President of the Brown Faculty Club.
May 2013
I hope your Spring has been filled with the freshness of resurgent growth and seasonal energy! And in that spirit…
THANKS to all of you, our Club Members, who "vote with your feet" to make the Club a part of your "life orbits." There is no greater compliment in today's fast-paced digital world than to see our traditional, stately, building-from-a-different-era Club used by so many…across the age spectrum.
THANKS to all staff who make the Club "go" day in, day out. I won't mention names. Whenever I try to highlight specific people in my draft "Prez Message," they mysteriously get edited out before publication. Their modesty knows no bounds, but happily it is matched by their service to you and the Club!
THANKS to our Club's Board of Managers and Executive Committee. Our meetings are akin to stoking the proverbial "engine of creativity," as our Little Engine That Could continues to find ways to make your experience at the Club as enjoyable as possible.
THANKS to administrators in the university who have been so generous to the Club. I mentioned in a previous Prez Message the refurbished "look" of the Club, due directly to their allocation of $$$. Member loyalty, the Club's top-notch food and services, and the quality of the Club's staff up-and-down-the-line have been noticed, I can assure you!
Switching focus a tad…
My wife and I were at the Easter Sunday brunch. OMG…It was marvelous! The buffet was superb, and the dessert choices were beyond belief! Even I had a dessert… despite being totally full from the buffet.
And by the way… a shout-out to the students who played Irish music for St. Patrick's Day. We were there, too. I was foot-tapping all through dinner!
Remember…. "Use us… Please use us" AND "Ya gotta love 'dat Club!"
