Besides thanking Edward Widmer and the staff directly involved in this show (Susan Danforth and Kenneth Ward) for their support and enthusiasm, I would also like to express my deep gratitude to colleagues and friends both in Portugal and the U.S. who have promptly accepted to collaborate in this project: Henrique Leitão [HL], Kenneth David Jackson [KDJ], Marília dos Santos Lopes [MSL], Mario Pereira [MP], Rui Manuel Loureiro [RML], Timothy Walker [TW], and Zoltán Biedermann [ZB]. Mario Pereira did certainly more than his share and helped to shape this exhibition on a subject that frequently fills our conversations.
