Fine Antique Map Reproductions

Massachusetts and New England, 1678
Precursor of the famous “White Hills” map

This map was connected with a mission from the Massachusetts Bay Colony to London that lasted from 1676 to 1679, one of several attempts by the Bay colonists to avert the revocation of their charter, which finally did occur in 1684. A Boston copy of this manuscript map was the pattern for the “Map of New England” made by John Foster to illustrate William Hubbard’s Narrative of the Troubles with the Indians in New England (Boston, 1677). Accompanied by an explanatory note.

21 1/2 x 25 1/2". Manuscript. $15.00
