These three maps of Jamaica, below, illustrate different approaches
to mapmaking. John Ogilbys 1671 map was brought up to date with
manuscript additions in 1675, while John Moxon was content to add merely
decorative features to his map of 1677. All three maps were based on the
surveys of John Man in ca. 1671. |
