The Inn’s front desk is open daily from 8am until midnight and is located on the first floor of Building A in the Vartan Gregorian Quad, at the corner of Charlesfield and Thayer Streets.
Our vacancy rate fluctuates throughout the year based upon many factors. To best improve your chances of reserving a room, please contact us as soon as you know that you will be visiting Brown. Brown undergraduate students cannot make reservations at the Saunders Inn at Brown for their parents. Parents of current Brown students must contact us directly to make reservations.
Commencement
The Saunders Inn does not accept reservations for Commencement Weekend (Reunion Weekend) in May, when the rooms are reserved for special guests of the University.
FAMIly weekend
A lottery is held for Family Weekend (formerly Parent's Weekend) due to the high volume of interest from Alumni and Undergraduate parents. We begin accepting lottery entries at the beginning of the year and the drawing will be held approximately three weeks prior to Family Weekend. Only lottery winners will be notified.
Since we receive many requests for Family Weekend, it is highly recommended that you make other accommodation arrangements and obtain a written cancellation policy before booking. Therefore, if your name is not drawn during the lottery you will have secured a room elsewhere OR if your name is drawn, you will have the option of canceling and rebooking with us. Please visit Brown's list of accommodations in the Providence area.
General Closures:
The Saunders Inn closes the guest rooms twice each year. The rooms are closed during the Thanksgiving holiday and then again at the end of the fall term through mid-January.
