Susannah is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and the Brown/Trinity Consortium (MFA – Acting), where she played Emily in Trinity Repertory Company's production of Our Town (2007 IRNE Award nomination for Best Actress, Large Theatre). A Brooklyn resident, she participated in Ensemble Studio Theater's Marathon 2008, and has workshopped shows at Lincoln Center Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, The Rattlestick and Babel Theatre Project.

Most recently, Susannah accepted a contract from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for their 2009/2010 75th Anniversary Season, where she will play Ophelia in Hamlet, directed by Bill Rauch, and Lydia Bennett in Pride and Prejudice. Other regional theater credits include the world premiere of Paula Vogel's A Civil War Christmas, directed by Tina Landau (Long Wharf Theatre); Helena in Midsummer (Hartford Stage); Quilters (Denver Center Theater Company); Suzanne/The Countess in Picasso at the Lapin Agile and Maria in Up (Syracuse Stage); Katya in Memory House (Trinity Repertory Company); Sister James in Doubt (Hangar Theatre); plus Juliet in Romeo & Juliet and Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew (Shakespeare in Santa Fe); Varya in The Cherry Orchard, Viola in Twelfth Night, Isabella in Measure for Measure, and Lydia in All My Sons (Chautauqua Theatre Company).
