The Catherine Bryan Dill Center for the Performing Arts is comprised of three main performance spaces located in two separate buildings - Lyman Hall and Faunce House. Situated on the northern side of the main campus, the courtyard to these buildings is easily accessed from Waterman Street between Brown and Thayer streets.

Driving Directions

Free Parking is available on the street and in campus lots after business hours on weekdays and on weekends. Please see the campus parking map.

From the east: Follow I-195 West, exit at South Main Street (exit 2) and proceed North to the traffic light at College Street (large courthouse at corner). Turn right on College Street. Go to the top of the hill where College Street terminates at Prospect Street, in front of Brown University's Van Wickle Gates. Turn left on Prospect Street, travel one block and then turn right onto Waterman Street. Begin looking for a place to park. After one block, Brown Street will intersect Waterman on your left and 50 yards further the Catherine Bryan Dill Center for the Performing Arts will be on your right. The address is 77 Waterman Street.

From the west, north and south: Follow I-95 to I-195 East, exit at Downtown Providence (exit 1), and follow the exit ramp along the river. At the second light (College Street), turn right. Go to the top of the hill where College Street terminates at Prospect Street, in front of Brown University's Van Wickle Gates. Turn left on Prospect Street, travel one block and then turn right onto Waterman Street. Begin looking for a place to park. After one block, Brown Street will intersect Waterman on your left and 50 yards further the Catherine Bryan Dill Center for the Performing Arts will be on your right. From the northwest: Follow Route 146 South into Providence and onto I-95 South then immediately onto I-195 East. Exit at Downtown Providence (exit 1), and follow the exit ramp along the river. At the second light (College Street), turn right. Go to the top of the hill where College Street terminates at Prospect Street, in front of Brown University's Van Wickle Gates. Turn left on Prospect Street, travel one block and then turn right onto Waterman Street. Begin looking for a place to park. Travel by Bus

The Bonanza Bus terminal is located to the north of downtown and provides a free shuttle to Kennedy Plaza. From there, you can either walk "up the hill" (about 10 to 15 minutes), or take a bus or cab to campus.

Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) provides regular bus and trolley service to and from the campus area. Routes 35, 40, 42, 49 and the 92 Green Line Trolley all make regular stops at Thayer Street just one block from the theatre.

Travel by Train

The Providence train terminal is located at 100 Gaspee Street in Providence's downtown district. From there, you may take a cab or bus to campus. Walking takes 15-20 minutes.

This terminal services Amtrak with Acela high-speed regional service as well as The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) commuter train service.

Travel by Plane

T. F. Green Airport is located about ten miles south of Providence. The most economical way of transportation to the campus is by shuttle (Airport Limousine Co.), which leaves the airport on the hour and arrives on campus about 15 minutes later.

Logan Airport is located in Boston only an hour away by car, bus or train.

Travel by Boat

 

 

With four in Providence alone, Rhode Island boasts over 150 marinas for your boating pleasure and nearly all are within 45 minutes of Brown Theatre by land or sea. Check with your harbor master about shuttle service.  See charternet.com

Ferry Service is available to and from Providence serving ports in Newport, Block Island, Martha's Vineyard, New London, and Long Island.
