Abstract:   Useful information for cataloging purposes may be gleaned from the checkin record. Checkins are used for electronic resources, active and inactive serials, multi-volume non-serials, and titles ordered by the Acquisitions Dept. by serial title but cataloged and classed separately by the Catalog Dept. For more detailed information, consult the III users manual or an Acquisitions or Serials Dept. staff person.

Fixed fields:

SCODE2 (fixed field 03):   suppress code; n=suppressed, [hyphen]=not suppressed
SCODE4 (fixed field 10):   code "u" indicates electronic upload to CRIARL Union List of Serials
LOCATION (fixed field 6)

Variable fields:

CALL #:   Not indexed in the call number index; not subfielded
IDENTITY:   Information on location of current issues for unbound periodicals, or latest issue of directories, etc.
LIB. HAS:   Summary holdings statement; ANSI modified Level 3 used for most titles
NOTE:   additional information; visible in staff mode only
