DVD Cataloging : Local Policy on Barcodes, Location Codes, and Labeling

Barcode the case in the upper left corner (same position as on a CD jewel case)
Do not barcode texts (booklets) which are inserted into the case, only those external to the case.

Item record locations currently profiled are:
CODE blank STAMP
hdvd = HAY DVD
hhdvd = HAY HARRIS DVD
mddvd = SCI MEDIA DVD
ocrdv = ORWIG RESRV-DVD
odvd = ORWIG DVD

DVDs should be labeled in the clear center-area of the disc only, as many are double-sided. A Sanford Sharpie extra/ultra fine point pen will be used to write call #, Brown University Library, and cataloger's initials. Texts will be labelled with pencil if possible, or pen if the paper surface is slick.
