Hebrew and Arabic Books: Marking and Barcoding

Hebrew and Arabic books are written from right to left, so that what would be considered the back cover of an English book is the front cover of a Hebrew or Arabic book. Therefore the title page is at the back of the book from the standpoint of an English reader.

The call number is marked at the top of the inside edge of the leaf following the title page. If there is no room here, mark the call number on the top of the inside edge of the verso of the title page.

Do not replace the barcode if it has been positioned incorrectly, as this may damage the book.
