Abstract:   Lists staff responsibilities for answering questions and assigning call numbers in the Catalog Department

From time to time, staff members outside the Catalog Department have questions about call numbers and cataloging procedures. For the most part, questions of a general nature should be directed to Dominique Coulombe, Head, Catalog Department. Barbara Spaulding, Database Management Coordinator, handles Retrospective Conversion and other database questions, including those on the authority file, and Ann Caldwell, Bibliographic Control Coordinator, covers copy cataloging problems and NACO questions. Occasionally, however, it may be more appropriate to check with individual catalogers in their areas of expertise. All questions on broadsides should go to Nancy Holloway, those on electronic resources to Ann Caldwell. Linda Ewbank and Sarah Shaw field questions on scores and sound and video recordings of all types. Mark Brown covers questions dealing with manuscripts, Howard Stone handles maps, microfiche and microfilm formats. David Rich and Joanna Katsune respond to Harris questions for all formats from books to broadsides*; Richard Noble fields Special Collections questions not otherwise handled by others. If questions arise by classification rather than by format or location, the following list, which displays the call number, the subject matter and the cataloger responsible for them should be referred to.
