This procedure applies to a score which is being withdrawn by the Orwig Music Library staff and for which a replacement copy/edition is being ordered by the Acquisitions Department.

Prior to August 1, 2000, Orwig scores being withdrawn and replaced followed the same procedure as other formats (see "Withdrawal Replacement Procedures : June 1999") and the score being withdrawn was held in Collection Development offices until the rep lacement score was received.

Since the replacement score was rarely an exact match, this prior treatment is now replaced with the following:

Beginning August 1, 2000 the "Withdrawal Replacement Procedures : June 1999)" will not be applied to Orwig scores being withdrawn and replaced. No notation will be made in item or order records to link the "old" score with the "new" score. Instead, the score being withdrawn will follow procedures for withdrawals, and may be disposed of as soon as the database been adjusted. A replacement copy/edition will be ordered, but without notations in the order record or the item record linking the withdraw al with the new score order. The "replacement" score will be counted as a new score receipt for Orwig.
