Information about China Academic Journals (CAJ) CAJ, one of several major databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), now is available for Brown University users via NorthEast Research Libraries Consortium (NERL) and East View Online Services. This comprehensive, interdisciplinary database contains over 2.1 million full text, full image articles (many in English) of social sciences/humanities journals from 1994 to date. Subject areas include literature, history, philosophy, economics, politics, law, education and other social sciences. To access, click the database link after login to China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI)
- A CAJ Viewer is required for the first-time users and it can be downloaded at the site. Click the Downloads - CAJ Viewer link on the Help page.
- The recommended Web browser is Internet Explorer version 4.0 or higher.
- While CAJ uses both Chinese and English interfaces for searching, Chinese font/software is required for displaying and inputting vernacular Chinese characters.
- Information on Chinese software can be available at How to Read Chinese on a Web Browser.
- A comprehensive User's Guide contains instructions on installing the CAJ viewer, searching, and other important features.
