Library Instructional Services

Supporting students, faculty and librarians in the Brown community in their efforts to use library resources in teaching and learning.

In addition to connecting library collections and materials with users, the library is focused on ensuring that the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate today's information-rich society are taught and that they support academics at Brown.

Individual student projects: Providing student research support and the use of library materials in traditional and digital projects.

Course projects: Librarians work with faculty to provide library resources to support curriculum.

Class Sessions: Available at all levels and with a wide range of topicsfocus on general orientation, specialized research tools, electronic resources and applications, information fluency, primary materials, or a combination of these. (Request a class session)

Workshops: Skills development sessions on software, critical thinking, and other topics. (Request a workshop)
