The History of Special Collections at Brown University

Brown University Library, later Robinson Hall. (Built 1875 - 1878)

Funds provided by the Brown family made construction of new quarters for the overcrowded Manning Hall library possible, and in 1878, the collections were placed in the first structure at Brown devoted exclusively to the library.
