District Chiller Plants
New district chiller plants provide chilled water for building air conditioning more economically than individual building systems. One plant has been completed in JW Wilson with a capacity of 3000 tons; it will support core campus buildings. The work was completed in August 2008. The second chiller plant will be located at the Central Heat Plant with a capacity of 450 tons and will service the athletics complex. This work has been postponed until the commencement of Phase III.
