District Chiller Plants

Two new district chiller plants will be built to provide chilled water for building air conditioning more economically than individual building systems. One will be located in JW Wilson with a capacity of 3000 tons and will support core campus buildings. The work was completed in August 2008. The second chiller plant will be located at the Central Heat Plant with a capacity of 450 tons and will service the athletics complex. The expected completion date for the second chiller is August 2009.
