The Genomics Core Facility provides state-of-the-art genomics and proteomics equipment to researchers at Brown University and to the entire Rhode Island research community, as well as assistance with experimental design, trouble shooting, and data analysis.
The Genomics Core Facility offers Affymetrix microarray and Illumina NextGeneration services to the academic community and external customers. The "Current Prices" tab describes the fees for internal users. External users please contact Christoph Schorl for prices of Core Facility services.
This facility has received partial support from the National Institutes of Health (NCRR grant Numbers P30RR031153, P20RR018728 and S10RR02763), National Science Foundation (EPSCoR grant No 0554548), Lifespan Rhode Island Hospital, and the Division of Biology and Medicine, Brown University.
Operations
- Card access, after authorization
If you don't have a Brown username and password, please contact Christoph Schorl (401-863-2875) for access to the Genomics Core Facility.
- Self service for trained users after approval by Facility Director, Affymetrix equipment and bioanalyzer are operated by the director of the Core Facility. Please contact the director of the facility before using any equipment for the first time.
Only the Facilities' staff are authorized to train users.
For some equipment a user fee will be charged quarterly to the principal investigator, billing information must be submitted prior to use of the equipment.
