Student Based Initiatives & Projects

In the face of the threat of climate change, the future depends upon making our actions and beliefs  more sustainable and environmentally sound. The creation of this site follows the belief that the real change for the future begins with the young people of today. The first step is building an understanding of the issues and how we each are part of the problem and the solution. However, after we've begun to understand what's behind climate change and greenhouse gases where do we go from there?

Here, we've included a number of examples of initiatives and projects that focus on students and young people becoming active and involved with these issues.

*Connect: The online environmental community for young people by young people
*ThinkQuest: A collection of student- made websites on environmental issues.

some examples  :"Global Warming: will it affect you?"

                             - includes "Global Warming Trailer" RealVideo

                            :"Greenhouse.com"

                             - includes "Fools Guide to Global Warming"

*The Global Change Game: A traveling educational program in Canada. A fast paced challenging learning activity exploring the issue of global change. While this program is in Canada, perhaps you could start something similar at your school.
