Question #6:  Natural Gas: Two Sides of the Coin. 

The two major sources of energy for the residential sector in 1996 in Rhode Island were Distillate and Natural Gas. a) Why would it be advantageous  for more Rhode Island residents to use Natural Gas rather than Distillate? b) What would be the MTCE impact of 25% of distillate users switching to Natural Gas? c) However what are some other considerations that make reliance upon natural gas as a relatively "green"- that is, environmentally friendly - source of energy? (hint : look at current and estimated natural gas consumption and United States reserves.) d) What are some other alternative sources of energy?
