Assumptions and Methodology:
The EPA conducted composite soil testing on 67 vacant lots in the South
Providence area. Readings with less than 100 ppm readings were tabulated as 100
in value. Readings less than 150 ppms were tabulated as 150 in value. The
highest duplicate reading was used to calculate average concentration (i.e. if
the values were 450ppm and 495 ppm, the 495 reading was used in the
calculation).
