76 participants answered Q17; the one who did not respond also did not respond to Q16.

In general (44/76, 58%), respondents felt that state government should prevent the spread of invasive plants in the US. 11/44 (25%) of these respondents only chose this option. 39/44 respondents chose “federal government” in Q16, indicating that most respondents feel that the federal government should prevent the entrance of invasive plants into the country, while they feel that the state government should prevent their spread. However, 28/44 also chose “state government” in Q16.

Those who felt that trade organizations should prevent the spread of invasive plants already sold in the US usually also felt that trade organizations should prevent invasives from entering the country (Q16). 36 chose trade organizations in Q17, 29 respondents chose “trade organizations” in both questions.

All of the 4 respondents who chose “no one” chose no other option.
