Parking

Parking around the Brown campus is very limited. Most of the streets around campus have 2-3 hour parking limits during the day. Please be aware that in these limited-time parking areas the city parking monitors are very vigilant and there is a high risk of being ticketed. (Brown faculty and staff can attest to this!) In the outlying residential areas, there is street parking without any time limits, but it may require a 10-15 walk back to campus from some of these areas. There are limited spaces available in Brown's visitor's parking lot. The fee to park in this lot is $13.00 per day. For workshop participants staying at the Inn at Brown, conference parking permits may be attained from the Inn. For attendees staying at the Radisson Hotel Providence Harbor, parking is available at the hotel, but it is recommended that you use either the Radisson's free shuttle or a taxi service to move between the hotel and campus. It is approximately a 20-30 minute walk (with some slight hills) from the Radisson to Alumnae Hall.

Transportation

Air Travel
Providence's TF Green Airport
Boston's Logan Airport

The Brown University campus is located about 10 miles from the TF Green Airport. One-way taxi fare is approximately $27. The most economical transportation to the Brown campus is Airport Limousine's shuttle service (401-737-2868). A shuttle leaves every hour on the hour and is available from 5 a.m. until midnight. Tickets can be purchased on the lower level of the airport near the exit. The shuttle van will take you to Faunce House Arch at 75 Waterman Street.

From Logan International Airport (Boston), take the Bonanza Bus (401-751-8800) to Providence. Buses run almost hourly (on the half-hour) and circulate throughout the terminal area. The Bonanza Bus will drop you off at the Bonanza-Providence Bus Terminal located just north of downtown Providence. From there, you can either take a cab directly to the Brown campus or to your hotel or take a shuttle to Kennedy Plaza in the heart of downtown Providence, and then take a cab to the Brown campus or to your hotel.

Bus Service
Bonanza and Greyhound bus lines provide service to Providence from many cities throughout the New England region. The bus station is located just north of the Providence downtown area; from the bus station, downtown Providence and the Brown campus can be reached by shuttle or by taxi. For schedules and fares, please visit either http://www.bonanzabus.com/ or http://greyhound.com/home.asp.

Train Service
Providence is on the Northeast Corridor Amtrak train route. The train station is located in the center of downtown Providence, just below the State House. It is a brief walk or taxi ride to the Brown campus.

For additional information about regional transportation in New England, please view the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority Web site.
