Artist-in-Residence: Dennis McNulty

Dennis McNulty's installations and sound performance works deal with time, space, architecture, and the frictions between the planned and the unplanned, especially in relation to constructed spaces. During spring 2011, he will be in residence at Brown University through the John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage and the Creative Arts Council to realize new works of temporary public art on Brown’s campus. Curated by Ian Russell and based at the newly completed Granoff Center for Creative Arts, he will respond to the layers of architectural history, temporalities, and social relations that resonate through the built environments of Brown University and Providence. McNulty will give talks and participate in University events throughout the duration of his residency. Updates will be made available through the JNBC and the CAC.

Dennis McNulty's residency is funded by grants from the Brown University Creative Arts Council and from Culture Ireland as part of Imagine Ireland - A year of Irish Arts in America in 2011.
