We study mechanisms of learning, memory and decision-making using psychophysical and neurophysiological techniques. In particular, we're interested in the frontal-cortex and basal ganglia systems, and how they give rise to rapid behavioral plasticity. Understanding how learning and cognition normally operate in the brain will allow us to develop strategies to repair the brain in the setting of disease, or after traumatic injury or stroke. |
