We study mechanisms of learning, memory and decision-making using psychophysical and neurophysiological techniques in animals and humans.  We're interested in how the frontal-cortex & basal ganglia systems give rise to rapid behavioral plasticity.

Understanding how learning and decision-making normally operate in the brain will allow us to develop strategies to repair the brain in the setting of disease, or after traumatic injury or stroke.
