- During the day, try the V-Dub dining hall or the Blue Room café
- At night, try the Ivy Room or Jo's
Given its location on the quieter Pembroke campus and its warm open spaces, the Gate is a favorite escape for faculty, staff and students from the lunchtime crowds on the main campus. The Gate's couches fill up in the evenings, when it becomes a comfy hang-out spot for study-breakers and procrastinators. The Gate is known for its deli sandwiches and specialty pizzas, and it's a quick stop to grab a mid-day coffee refresher.
The Gate's redesign in Fall 2007 opened up the space around the pizza, sandwich and soup counters. The new menu now features whole wheat crusts, pizzas with pesto and a Community Harvest pizza with fresh toppings from local farms. Plus, now choose from four hot soups every day!
