After 3 rounds intense trivia competition, 20 boxes of pizza, 12 meeting street cookies, and 7 different flavors of wings, Greek Life's first annual trivia night came down to the final question.
The 1967 album, "Swiss Mountian Music," features a song called "On the Franches Mountains" by the Jura orchestra. The yodeling segment of this song is recognized today for its use on this television show?
With Sigma leading the other Greek houses in attendance, as they had been since question 1 of Round 1, a right answer would assure them the victory. Each team had the opportunity to risk up to 20 points, and a wrong answer could cost them as many points as their wager. After an intense 5 minutes of team collaboration, the teams turned in their wagers and their final answers. DTau's team "Delts in Your Mouth" decided to "bro big or bro home" (Ben Schreckinger '12) and bet all 20 points on "The Price is Right." ...The gamble paid off.
The exciting finish to the competition was a great culimation to an exciting Greek-wide event, which helped not only to bring the Greek houses together but also to welcome the new pledge class. Zete and AXO put on impressive performances, and AEPi started strong but faded late to finish out of the top 5. Trivia questions about food, music, mythology, and amusement parks were accompanied by a picture round, in which contestants had to identify movies and actors according to the depicted scene. Congratulations to all teams involved.
