Elections will be taking place on Tuesday April 24th at 8pm in the Thete lounge.

1. The Duties of the Chair - Shall be responsible for calling Council and Executive Board meetings.
- Shall meet with appropriate University officials regularly on all issues concerning the Greek System.
- Shall coordinate all activities of Officers and Committees and shall be ultimately responsible for all activities.
- Shall cooperate with the Treasurer in the preparation of the yearly budget.
- Shall be responsible for the enforcement of the Greek Council Constitution and By-Laws, especially the requirements on attendance.
- Shall oversee the Greek Cup
- Shall maintain communications with the Greek Alumni Board of Governors.
- There shall be only one sitting Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a full year, from April to April.
2. The Duties of the Vice-Chair - Shall serve as the assistant to the Chair, and shall act as Chair in his/her absence.
- Shall be responsible for the organization of the Recruitment period, including bid cards, housing slips, and the publication of the Recruitment booklet.
- Shall be responsible for the assignment of all official Recruitment events.
- Shall serve as a liaison to the University for any matters regarding Recruitment.
- And shall be responsible for overseeing Greek Week in the Fall and Spring.
- There shall be only one sitting Vice-Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a full year, from April to April.
3. The Duties of the Treasurer - Shall have charge of all Council funds, including the collection and disbursement of all money due to and owed by the same; the keeping of records of all financial transactions, and the reporting on financial status at the end of every month.
- Shall be responsible with the Chair for the preparation of yearly budget to be submitted for the approval at the first duly called meeting of the academic year.
- Shall be responsible for communicating with and providing required information to all organizations that fund the Council, including the provision of a budget to the UFB by the spring deadline.
- Shall coordinate with the treasurer of the Greek Alumni Board of Governors to oversee all endowments and funds.
- There shall be only one sitting Treasurer at any given time. He/She shall serve for a full year, from April to April.
4. The Duties of the Public Relations Chair- Shall be responsible for publicizing all activities of the Council and Greek organizations, including working with co-sponsor organizations.
- Shall be responsible for presenting the Greek System to the Brown community in a positive manner. This includes responsibility for communication with all media including the BDH and other news affiliates.
- Shall be responsible for keeping the Greek Council Website up to date.
- Shall be charged with managing the Greek-wide listservs.
- May be called upon by the Vice-Chair to aid with the Recruitment book.
- Shall be responsible for the publication of the Greek communities "A Year in Review" in conjunction with the Secretary.
- There shall be only one sitting Public Relations Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a semester.
5. The Duties of the Social Chair- Shall be responsible for assigning dates of all cocktails or Class F functions held by any Greek House and reporting those dates to the Student Activities Office.
- Shall be responsible for collecting reports on every cocktail or Class F function held by any Greek House and serving as a liaison on such functions to the Student Activities Office.
- Shall be responsible the coordination of New Member Education in conjunction with the Standards Chair.
- Shall be responsible for the Greek Council portion of Spring Weekend.
- There shall be only one sitting Social Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a full year, from April to April.
6. The Duties of the Philanthropy & Outreach Chair- Shall be responsible for planning community service events for the Greek community as a whole.
- Shall be responsible for planning Halloween on Wriston each fall.
- Shall be responsible helping all Greek Houses fulfill their community service requirement of two events per semester.
- Shall serve as a liaison to the University Office of Alumni Relations and assist them with any projects involving Greek Alumni.
- Shall be responsible for arranging any events or activities involving Alumni of the Greek Houses.
- Shall be responsible for maintaining an updated database of the Alumni of all Greek Houses.
- Shall be responsible for coordinating with the Greek Alumni Board of Governors regarding reunions.
- Shall be responsible for approving of funding for co-sponsored events in conjunction with the Treasurer.
- Shall be responsible for promoting and organizing Greek-wide events including Greek Week in the fall and Spring.
- There shall be only one sitting Philanthropy & Outreach Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a semester.
7. The Duties of the Standards Chair- Shall be responsible for presiding over all trials presented to the Greek Council and all inter-house conflicts that arise. In the event of a disagreement over standards between different Houses within the Greek Council, the Standards Chair remains neutral and confidential in handling the resolution of any and all issues.
- Shall serve as a neutral party who can receive property taken from any Greek House and return it to the same House.
- Shall be responsible in maintaining communication with the Office of Student Life.
- Shall be responsible in coordinating trainings for the Judicial Board.
- Shall be responsible in maintaining a relationship with the Department of Public Safety and scheduling a meeting with them once a semester.
- Shall be responsible the coordination of New Member Education in conjunction with the Standards Chair.
- Shall be responsible for amending the Constitution and By-Laws in conjunction with the chair.
- There shall be only one sitting Standards Chair at any given time. He/She shall serve for a semester.
8. The Duties of the Secretary- Shall record the minutes of all Council meetings and be responsible for sending this information to all house Presidents within two (2) days after each meeting.
- Shall be responsible for all general distribution of information to the Houses.
- Shall be responsible for keeping attendance of all Executive Board Officers and House Presidents at each meeting.
- Shall be responsible for sending weekly reminders the day before each Greek Council meeting providing the location of said meeting.
- Shall be responsible for the publication of the Greek communities "A Year in Review" in conjunction with the External Relations Chair.
- Shall be responsible for maintaining the Greek wide directory.
- There shall be only one sitting Secretary at any given time. He/She shall serve for a semester.
