Health Services maintains an on site x-ray service
which is licensed by the RI Department of Health. We perform
basic film studies such as chest x-rays, extremities and back,
etc. All films are initially read by our provider staff. The
films are then sent for a reading by a radiologist. Our contracted
radiology group is Rhode Island Medical Imaging.
Health Services will arrange for more involved
testing (ie. ultrasound, MRI, CT scans) to be done off site.
If you have the Brown sponsored insurance
plan:
Health Services can submit your x-ray claim directly to the
student health insurance plan.
If you have private insurance:
X-ray charges for insurance plans, other than the Brown sponsored
plan, will be billed to your student bursar account. A receipt
will be provided which you may submit to your company for
possible reimbursement. Coverage by private insurance companies
varies greatly-we strongly recommend that you check directly
with your insurance company regarding if and how x-ray charges
may be covered.
X-ray is open 9:30am - 4pm Monday through Friday
when classes are in session.
During breaks and summer, x-ray is open limited hours. Please
call ahead for current hours.
