Services for Students with a Learning Disability/ADD/ADHD
- Self-advocacy workshop
- Academic advising and study skills counseling
- Examination modifications as necessary, such as: additional time; quiet room; use of a word processor; or in rare cases, in alternate format
- Extended deadlines for some paper assignments
- Permission to tape-record lectures
- Assistance in identifying a volunteer note taker
- Assistance in registering for Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic
- The option of taking a reduced course load with a prorated tuition*
- Referral to off-campus professional tutors
- Referral to off-campus neuro-psychologists for diagnosis
* Students choosing to take a reduced course load with a prorated tuition are still required to fulfill the tuition degree requirement by accumulating eight full semesters (32 courses) of tuition credit and a minimum of 30 course credits. Students considering this option should discuss it with the Director or Assistant Director of DSS.
