Housing lottery

Information.

The housing lottery is the process by which most students choose where they will live during the upcoming year. Students enter the lottery in a group and select actual housing on the night of the lottery.Andrews Hall

Participating in the lottery is easier and less stressful if you and your group plan in advance and research your options.

Luckily, this website contains information you will need in order to prepare for this year's lottery.

Also, be sure to visit the Office of Residential Life's Lottery Page, which contains official policies and procedures pertaining to the Lottery. You are responsible for familiarizing yourself with this information.

4.3.2012. Lottery JWW Table Info Session!!! THIS FRIDAY 4/6/12

  • Come to the J Walter Wilson Lobby from 10-4PM and visit the Housing Lottery table! We'll answer all the questions you have about Lottery.
  • Email me at Housing_lottery@brown.edu for any questions!

3.12.2012. DORM CHANGES THIS YEAR

  • Grad Center D will be all singles, which means each single in a suite may be selected in the lottery!
  • The following residential dorms will not be in the lottery this year: Wayland, Keeney, Miller, Metcalf.
  • Hope and Littlefieid will be in the lottery as Sophomore-Only Housing. 315 Thayer will also be in the lottery.

12.1.2011. From now on, Rescouncil's Lottery Committee will be holding year round dorm-tours! Email Housing_lottery@brown.edu to make your reservation today.

Be sure to answer these questions in the email:

  • When are you available for a dorm tour?
  • Which dorms do you want to tour?
  • A phone number so we can contact you during the time of the tour!
