Residential Council Minutes :: April 18, 2006

Present: Dean Forsberg, Benjamin Boas, Kyle Evans, Justin Glavis-Bloom, Brendan Hargreaves, Tal Itzkovich, Jimmy Kaplowitz, Jennifer Kuo, Allison Kwong, Katherine Lamm, Michael Morgenstern, Damian Maldonado, David Pacheco, Laura Supkoff

  1. Meeting begins at 12:03
  2. Program House
    1. We will schedule Spring Review and have a meeting to discuss it, which must be during reading period.
  3. Lottery
    1. We will begin to discuss the waitlist, give some reccomendations to ResLife
  4. Survey is still under review, a fw comments to change
  5. Lounge renovations
    1. They will make renovations:
    2. Littlefield
      1. Create a specialization for different spaces, 1st floor might have more flexible seating, table/chairs in the center and bar-height tables/chairs on the side
      2. Second floor, has television, more of TV lounge - love seat and chair - or, may bring in ottomans; task lighting, floor lamps, etc.
      3. Third floor, second study space - tables/chairs or soft seating for sitting and reading?
      4. Fourth floor, sleeping study room - three-seater couches, table
      5. Suggestions
        1. Make the third floor hard study, there is a lot of soft space
        2. Three-seater in the second floor would be nicer
        3. Is the plastic furniture comfortable?
    3. Hope basement
      1. Considering removing one door if fire code permits,
      2. Three carrols and oval-shaped table
      3. Some study, some conversation, some television
    4. Perkins
      1. Multi-purpose elements
      2. Trying to get refrigerator under counter space

      4. Considering allowing for art display
    5. We looked at specific furniture options and offered suggestions
  6. All ResCouncil appointments should be done by next Wednesday.
