Janet and Robert - guests to speak about current renovation planning.

Corporation approved 315 Thayer Street; Discussing programmatic elements for the building renovation.
How should we incorporate common space? What kind do we need?
Comparing alternate plans
-Trying to avoid doubles
-Target upperclassmen with suites vs. Sophomores with singles
-Could have singles on top floor with suites on lower floors
-Elevator for laundry is a crucial feature
-Would be major benefit to put small kitchenettes in the common areas
-Want the common space so that programs can be held
-Do we need more suites/apartments, or more singles? Suites in Pembroke are rare, and it might be nice to add community for upperclassmen in off-campus housing. Might spread out distribution of upperclassmen up towards Pembroke area.
-Need to dispel myth of Pembroke being outcast
-What is the best thing for sophomores? Caswell model? Some want singles, some want doubles.
-Want to avoid dispersing singles throughout campus without real conglomeration of any type.
-Suites, entire building if possible
-Important to have a quiet study space type place – intimate scale
